Abstract
This study evaluated the validity and utility of antigen-detection rapid diagnostic tests (Ag-RDTs) for SARS-CoV-2 in elite sports. The data on utility, ease of use and application for Ag-RDTs as a new testing format were positive from players and staff. This evaluation was limited by the low prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 circulating within the three squads. This study highlights the need for continued service evaluations for SARS-CoV-2 Ag-RDTs in elite sport settings.Entities:

SARS-CoV-2 RT-qPCR confirmed cases detected in three men's professional (premiership) rugby union sports squads during the Bionote Ag-RDT evaluation.

All cases were detected during the Bionote evaluation period.
R1: Round 1 of testing week, R2: Round 2 of testing week.
Self-sampling for all participants during first 2-weeks of evaluation.
Previous PCR result, excluded from PCR for 90 days, second Ag-RDT sampling (R2) upon return after 10 days of isolation.
Only self-swab sampling of this squad.
Sensitivity and specificity of the Bionote and Mologic Ag-RDTs in total samples and sampler sub-groups three men's professional (premiership) rugby union sports squads.
