Dear Editorwe would like to share ideas on the publication “Venous sinus thrombosis after the second jab of an mRNA-based SARS-CoV-2 vaccine”. Finsterer and Nics concluded that “This case shows that also the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine can be followed by a VST. Currently, there are more arguments in favour of a causal relation between the vaccination and the VST than against it”. Thormbohemostasis after COVID-19 vaccination si an important problem. The present case might or might not be a case of vaccine complication. Regarding mRNA vaccine, it can also cause the thrombosis. In a previous study, it is apparently that there will be a significant increase of blood viscosity after the second dose of COVID-19 vaccine regardless of vaccine type. This case might be co-incidence. Since there is no data on background neurovascular status of the patient, it is difficult to have a final conclusion on causal relationship. In a case with underlying neurological problem, there is an increased change of hyperviscosity after vaccination and it might be associated with thrombosis. Additionally, other underlying illness of patient can also be the cause of thrombosis, which is considered a coincidence.
