Clinical generalist pharmacist work-from-home expectations
| Applicable pharmacists | Job duty expectations |
|---|---|
| Inpatient clinical generalist pharmacists | Work out of the appropriate inpatient queues for the position being covered. Monitor and respond to in-basket messages. Complete clinical tasks assigned to the position being covered (i.e., TPNs, chemo releases, profile review, kinetics, etc.). |
| Infusion clinical generalist pharmacists | Work out of the appropriate infusion queue for the position being covered. Assist in the ‘James Outpatient All’ queue and help with 2nd verifications for all sites. Assist with oral chemo and follow-up with specialists and providers as needed. |
| All clinical generalist pharmacists | Notify other pharmacy staff that you are working from home and available via computer messaging and phone. Forward the phone of the position you are covering to your personal device. Attempt to resolve any problematic orders by contacting the specialist, provider, nurse, or study coordinator as needed. Use available resources on pharmacy intranet and pharmacy shared drive to answer questions. |
Abbreviation used: TPN = total parenteral nutrition.
