Abstract
Cardiac surgeons have become more cognizant of the syndrome of noncardiogenic pulmonary edema after cardiopulmonary bypass. Although this syndrome is rare, its occurrence can be catastrophic. This article reviews the current understanding of several factors that have been implicated in the cause of this syndrome and discusses the various options for management of the problem once it has arisen.Entities:
