Abstract
BACKGROUND: Prior studies suggest that parents with limited health literacy (HL) may be less likely to engage in oral health practices known to protect children's oral health. Earlier work has relied on cross-sectional data, however, so it is unclear whether HL influences parental behavior or is merely correlated with it.Entities:

Figure presents Pearson's correlations among constructs of interest at baseline, 12 months, 24 months, and 36 months. P values are represented with the following symbols:
p < 0.05,
p < 0.01,
p < 0.001.

Total effects are the sum of direct and indirect effects. CIs are calculated with bootstrapped standard errors.
