Abstract
BACKGROUND: Cardiovascular disease is the most common cause of death among Fabry disease patients, who carry significantly increased risk for heart failure and sudden cardiac death. Echocardiographic strain imaging and cardiac MRI are important clinical tools for early detection of cardiomyopathy before onset of systolic or diastolic dysfunction. However, studies on these imaging modalities are limited among Fabry patients. AIM ANDEntities:

Figure 1Correlation between interventricular septal and left ventricular posterior wall thickness with mid and basal inferoseptal regional strain patterns. There is an inverse relationship between left ventricular wall thickness and strain pattern in basal and mid inferoseptal segments. Pearson correlation analysis shows significant correlation between interventricular septal thickness and mid inferoseptal segment (r = 0.9, P = 0.003) and between left ventricular posterior wall thickness and mid inferoseptal segment (r = 0.8, P = 0.005)
