Abstract
BACKGROUND: Transrectal ultrasound-guided prostate biopsy (TRUS-Bx) is considered an essential urological procedure for the histological diagnosis of prostate cancer. It is, however, considered a "contaminated" procedure which may lead to infectious complications.
