Abstract
INTRODUCTION: Childhood malnutrition is widespread in low-income and middle-income countries (LMICs) and increases the frequency and severity of infections such as pneumonia. We aimed to identify studies investigating pneumonia deaths in malnourished children and estimate mortality risk by malnutrition severity.Entities:

Figure 1OR of death from pneumonia for (A) studies comparing children moderately underweight (low weight-for-age) to those with normal weight (B) studies comparing children severely underweight to those with normal weight (C) meta-estimates from meta-analyses of studies with pairwise comparisons (D) meta-estimates from network meta-analysis for being moderately and severely underweight. ((A) and (B) only show results from studies which do not collapse moderate and severe underweight categories).
