Beta and 95% CI were calculated by linear regression. In model 1, covariates were age and sex. In model 2, covariates were model 1+smoking, drinking, and exercise status, the presense of diabetes and hypertension, body mass index, total cholesterol, and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein. In model 3, model 2+baseline estimated glomerular filtration rate and proteinuria.

OR and 95% CI were calculated by logistic regression.

Fig. 1Subgroup analysis for the relationship between (A) aryl hydrocarbon receptor ligand (AhRL), (B) mitochondria-inhibiting substance (MIS)-adenosine triphosphate (ATP), and (C) MIS-reactive oxygen species (ROS) with rapid estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) decline. Odd ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated by logistic regression. Covariates were age, sex, smoking, drinking, and exercise status, fasting glucose, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, body mass index, waist circumference, total cholesterol, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein, estimated glomerular filtration rate and proteinuria. When covariates were chosen as subgroup, they were excluded from the model. HTN, hypertension; DM, diabetes mellitus.
