Abstract
Prostate cancer is a heterogeneous disease with high incidence and mortality. The functional role of miR-886 has been reported in various cancers and its dysregulation in prostate cancer was also found. Whether miR-886 was involved in the development of prostate cancer remains unclear, which was explored. miR-886 was evaluated in prostate cancer by RT-qPCR, and its clinical value was also assessed. Additionally, the role of miR-886 in prostate cancer cells was assessed by MTT and transwell assay. miR-886 was upregulated and was associated with the Gleason score and TNM stage of prostate cancer patients. miR-886 could predict the poor survival of patients. Moreover, miR-886 was a tumour promoter, of which the upregulation significantly promoted major cellular processes of prostate cancer. miR-886 mediated the disease development and predicted the clinical outcomes of patients. The knockdown of miR-886 inhibits cellular processes of prostate cancer, which provides a novel therapeutic target.Entities:
