CONFLICT OF INTEREST

None. Dear Editor, we would like to share ideas on “Prevalence and risk factors for gastrointestinal symptoms after recovery from COVID‐19. ” Blackett et al. studied on “147 patients without pre‐existing GI condition” and noted that “At a median of 106 days after discharge following hospitalization….. ” In the previous report, persistence of GI problem occurring during COVID‐19 illness was reported and it might clearly show the impact of COVID‐19. However, for the present report, the main problem is whether there is a hidden pre‐existing GI condition if there was no previous complete investigation. The GI symptom might be associated with many causes. The silent parasite infestation is possible, and it can be a cause of GI problem in any patients regardless of COVID‐19.
