Temporomandibular articulation tomography: a corrected anteroposterior and lateral cephalometric technique.

H M Rosenberg, R J Graczyk.

Abstract

A technique for temporomandibular articulation tomography employing cephalometric positioning is described. Head positioning is corrected for individual horizontal and vertical angulations of the condyle, producing accurate radiographic images. This method of corrected lateral and anterior posterior cephalometric tomography can accommodate the various skull sizes and shapes and produce maximum diagnostic information. It also provides a repeatable accurate technique for radiographic evaluation following therapeutic approaches.
