Abstract
BACKGROUND: The World Health Organization has declared that primary care should be organized to empower individuals, families, and communities to optimize health. Internet cognitive behavioral therapy (iCBT) tailored by psychologists' initial assessments to meet patients' specific needs have shown promising effects. However, few studies have evaluated patient involvement in decisions during iCBT. AIM: This study aimed to explore the effect of patient-driven iCBT compared to standard iCBT on perceived control over treatment, adherence, and level of anxiety symptoms. A secondary aim was to assess the relationship between changes in empowerment and changes in anxiety symptoms.Entities:
