Abstract
BACKGROUND: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) can adversely affect the health of the developing fetus. Women of South Asian origin are particularly at risk of developing GDM. Insulin resistance (IR) contributes to the etiology of GDM, and although studies have shown associations of vitamin B12 (B12) and folate status with GDM and IR, only a limited number of B12 and folate markers have been used.Entities:

24% of women were taking Healthy Start tablets. The daily dose in 1 tablet contained 70 mg of vitamin C, 10 μg of vitamin D, 400 μg of folic acid.
