Dysplasia in salivary gland ducts in sublingual leukoplakia and erythroplakia.

Abstract

Five cases showing squamous metaplasia with epithelial atypia in salivary gland ducts beneath sublingual leukoplakias and erythroplakias are described. These changes extend an appreciable distance into the submucosa and their presence must have important implications for the treatment of these conditions.
