Chondrosarcoma arising from the zygomatic arch.

H E Cook.

Abstract

A rare case of chondrosarcoma arising from the zygomatic arch is reported. While the possibility exists that an occult origin of the primary tumor may have been located in the infratemporal fossa, it is considered to be unlikely based on clinical, surgical, radiographic, and bone scanning results. Multiple surgical efforts failed to eradicate the disease and, in fact, appeared to hasten its progress.
