The school counselor and holistic health.

P A Thomas1, M S Texidor.

Abstract

Today, students confront many issues that affect their physical, intellectual, psychological, and social well-being. To serve students in a holistic wellness-oriented manner, a collaborative effort of school health personnel is useful. School counselors contribute to the health of students and faculty by helping them deal with issues that may interfere with optimal learning, using both preventive and curative interventions. Counselors also work collaboratively to solve health-related problems and concerns of students and serve as lifestyle management role models.
