Abstract
We present the case of a 12-year-old African girl infected with SARS-CoV-2 who was admitted to a tertiary academic hospital in Johannesburg with severe acute inflammatory myositis complicated by rhabdomyolysis and acute kidney injury requiring renal replacement therapy and intensive care.
