Gastric emptying in active duodenal ulcer.

K Jonderko1.

Abstract

Gastric emptying of a radiolabeled solid-phase meal was studied in 45 patients with an active duodenal ulcer, and in 32 healthy controls. Precise analysis of the course of gastric emptying was possible with the use of the function gamma approximation and power-exponential fitting. Unchanged lag phase followed by a small but significant acceleration of gastric emptying was found in duodenal ulcer patients as compared with healthy controls.
