Abstract
Background: Menière's disease (MD) is a disorder characterized by auditory and vestibular dysfunction that significantly deteriorates patients' quality of life (QoL). In addition to the management of vestibular symptoms, some patients with bilateral hearing loss meet criteria for cochlear implantation (CI).Entities:

Data are shown as absolute numbers and relative frequencies (%).
Pre-op, preoperatively; PTA4, pure tone threshold average of 500, 1,000, 2,000, and 4,000 Hz; SDS, speech discrimination score. When no response was detected, 140 dB value was used. Control patients without MD were implanted within ± 2 years of a correspondingly matched patient with MD. *p ≤ 0.05.
Audiometric data.

| 0.031* | 0.606 | 0.606 | 0.901 | |
Results are shown as mean ± standard deviation. Pre-op, preoperatively; Post-op, postoperatively; PTA4, pure tone threshold average of 500, 1,000, 2,000, and 4,000 Hz; if no response could be elicited at the PTA, 140 dB value was used. *indicates significant difference, p ≤ 0.05.
