Abstract
An interplay between algorithmic and mechanistic viewpoints is necessary to quantify the rates of transition between different states in developmental pathways. An ab initio method that uses only information theory and geometry to model the conformational entropy of linkages is discussed. This approach also reveals some ties between biological questions and the foundations of mathematics.Entities:
