Abstract
A 46-yr-old male was admitted to hospital with profuse vomiting, epigastric pain, and an infiltrative gastric lesion. Evidence is presented supporting the proposition that the symptoms were the product of an acute inflammatory response in the stomach induced by the bacterium Campylobacter pylori. The progress of the patient was monitored over a 2-yr period by endoscopic examination and serology for C. pylori. A significant rise in IgG antibody to C. pylori was seen only at 14 wk.Entities:
