@Yate’s correction; **P<0.01; ***P<0.001. Actual attempt: A potentially self-injurious act committed with at least some wish to die, as a result of the act. Nonsuicidal behavior: Self-injurious behavior without suicidal intent. Interrupted attempt: When the person is interrupted (by an outside circumstance) from starting the potentially self-injurious act (if not for that, an actual attempt would have occurred). Aborted attempt: When a person begins to take steps toward making a suicide attempt but stops themselves before they actually have engaged in any self-destructive behavior. Preparatory acts or behavior: Acts or preparation towards imminently making a suicide attempt. Suicidal behavior: Actual attempt, interrupted attempt, aborted attempt, and preparatory behavior.
