Clinical syndromes of myasthenia in infancy and childhood. A review.

G M Fenichel.

Abstract

Ten clinical syndromes of defective neuromuscular transmission in infancy and childhood are reviewed. Autoimmune, genetic, infectious, and pharmacologic mechanisms have been implicated. These disorders manifest themselves in a variety of ways including severe respiratory insufficiency. Prompt diagnosis and treatment may be lifesaving.
