Abstract
We studied metastasis-promoting effect of transmembrane protease TMPRSS4 on mismatch repair (MMR)-deficient colorectal cancer liver metastasis in BALB/c nude mouse model. Histomorphological and histopathological studies showed that the number of liver metastases in the study group were significantly higher than that in the control group (p<0.05). The expression of TMPRSS4 mRNA and protein in the study group were obviously higher than in the control group (p<0.05). These findings suggest that TMPRSS4 possesses a metastasis-promoting effect and its low expression can effectively block the progression of MMR-deficient colon cancer liver metastasis.Entities:
