a As all patients enrolled before implementation were enrolled at least 1 year before the data analysis, the number of patients observed at 3, 6 and 9 months remain the same.
Notes: n is the total number of patients enrolled. Retention is the number of patients retained in therapy in the third, sixth and ninth months after enrolment as a proportion of the number of patients enrolled in methadone maintenance therapy at the clinic.

Notes: n is the total number of patients enrolled. We recorded the number of days each patient took the prescribed methadone dose and calculated the proportion of days on which each patient adhered. Mean adherence is the average percentage adherence among patients retained in the third, sixth and ninth months after enrolment.
