Abstract
Multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C) associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection is an infrequent and poorly understood illness. It can present as severe multiorgan failure in children, potentially lethal. Immunomodulation is the empiric treatment because a dysregulated immune response is the primary pathophysiologic mechanism. We present an infant with severe MIS-C, refractory to usual treatment, successfully treated with plasmapheresis.Entities:
