Abstract
Thirty two right-handed patients with acute paranoid hallucinatory schizophrenia treated without drugs and thirty two right-handed healthy controls were investigated with the aim of finding out, if the results obtained from the tests in laterality correlated with the asymmetries in the alphawaves of the EEG data. As the most important result of the study, we could establish that in the patients, in contrast to the controls the alphawaves occurred on the right hemisphere whatever the additional findings in laterality were. The present results obtained from our patients indicate that in this stage of the disease the right hemisphere is relatively autonomous.Entities:
