Abstract
Acute bladder injuries are rare and usually occur following significant amount of trauma. It has also been reported to occur in patients with chronic conditions like carcinoma, prolonged indwelling catheters, chronic infections of the bladder among others. We present a case of an otherwise fit and healthy young woman who presented to our emergency department following an episode of binge drinking and urinary retention. She had a perforation of the bladder following a simple indwelling 18-Fr Foley's catheter insertion. In our knowledge, this is probably the first case to be described for such an injury with such mechanism. Published by Oxford University Press and JSCR Publishing Ltd. All rights reserved.Entities:
