Abstract
Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a growing worldwide concern, affecting approximately 30% of the US adult population. Developing pharmacologic therapies for NAFLD is crucial, especially as there are currently no treatments approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. However, weight loss remains the cornerstone of treatment and has been shown in controlled trials to improve hepatic steatosis, hepatic inflammation, and fibrosis. Healthy diet and exercise are the most well-known and frequently recommended lifestyle modifications for patients with NAFLD. This article presents the data on other aspects of healthy lifestyle modifications for patients with this condition, focusing on light alcohol consumption, coffee, circadian misalignments, and sleep.Entities:
