Abstract
Fibroblast-to-myofibroblast transdifferentiation and the acquisition of a senescent phenotype are hallmarks of fibrotic diseases. The study of the localization of senescent myofibroblasts as well as their interactions with other cell types in the fibrotic tissue has been hindered by the lack of methods to detect these cells in vivo. Here, we describe methods to detect tissue localization of senescent myofibroblasts in precision-cut lung slices (PCLS) by combining β-galactosidase staining with immunofluorescence techniques.Entities:
