Abstract
In a mouse urinary tract infection model, omadacycline (OMC) was comparable to gentamicin and better than ciprofloxacin (CIP) against a tetracycline-susceptible (TET-S), CIP-resistant (CIP-R) Escherichia coli strain. Gentamicin showed better efficacy than OMC against a TET-R, CIP-R E. coli strain, and OMC again showed better efficacy than CIP against this strain. OMC may warrant further study as a potential option for urinary tract infection treatment against CIP-R E. coli strains.Entities:
