KNHANES, Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Study; DM, diabetes mellitus; BMI, body mass index; SBP, systolic blood pressure; DBP, diastolic blood pressure; TG, triglycerides; HDL-c, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol; NA, not applicable Excess calorie intake was defined based on the 2015 Dietary Reference Intakes for Koreans.
Overweight (85th–94th percentile) and obesity (≥95th percentile or BMI ≥ 25.0 kg/m2) were defined based on the 2017 Korean Children and Adolescent National Growth Charts. Hypertension (SBP or DBP ≥ 95th percentile or ≥140/90 mmHg) was defined based on the 2007 Korean Children and Adolescent National Growth Charts.
Fig. 1.Trends in age-adjusted prevalence of IFG and DMFBG by obesity status in Korean teenagers. Values are presented as age-adjusted prevalence with 95% confidence interval based on the 2010 population and housing census. Overweight and obesity (≥85th percentile or BMI≥25.0 kg/m2) were defined based on the 2017 Korean Children and Adolescent National Growth Charts.
