Abstract
BACKGROUND: The risk of recurrent stroke following a minor stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA) is high, when inflammation might play an important role. We aimed to evaluate the value of neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in predicting composite cardiovascular events in patients with minor stroke and TIA.Entities:

FIGURE 2Percentages of patients with high NLR in those with or without a primary outcome. The left panel demonstrates percentages of patients with high NLR in those with or without a primary outcome in the overall cohort and the right in older patients. The primary outcome was a composite outcome of stroke (either ischemic or hemorrhagic), acute coronary syndrome and vascular death within 1 year. NLR indicates neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio.
