Abstract
The thraustochytrids, a group of marine, monocentric protists are reconsidered phylogenetically drawing upon ultrastructural and biochemical characters. They appear to have affiliations with both heterokont groups and other phyla of marine organisms, but still remain an essentially independent entity.Mesh：
