Shook. Vertical transmission of SARS-CoV-2. Am J Obstet Gynecol MFM 2021.
Defined by the National Institute of Health and endorsed by the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine
Includes both iatrogenic and spontaneous preterm births
By clinically available nasopharyngeal polymerase chain reaction for SARS-CoV-2
Number of newborns testing positive for SARS-CoV-2 divided by number of newborns delivered to women with SARS-CoV-2 infection (all hospitals, 369; MGH, 150; BWH, 135; BIDMC, 84). The 95% CI was calculated using the exact (Clopper-Pearson) method.
