Swimming pool granulomas due to Mycobacterium marinum: an occupational hazard of lifeguards.

A A Fisher1.

Abstract

M. marinum appears to be an occupational hazard to lifeguards who clean swimming pools. If such persons have any persisting "boil," "ulcer," or "granuloma," these lesions should be considered to be caused by M. marinum, unless proven otherwise.
