Abstract
OBJECTIVE: There are animal models associating dopamine dysfunction with behavioral impairments that model attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Erythropoietin (EPO) has trophic effects on dopaminergic neurons. The aim of this study was to examine the EPO plasma levels and determine whether there was any correlation between plasma EPO levels and clinical characteristics of ADHD.Entities:

Odds ratios (95% confidence interval) for ADHD by plasma EPO levels (tertile)*

Tertiles are based on the distribution in the whole study subjects. Model 1 was not adjusted. Model 2 was adjusted for age and sex.
*Logistic regression was used for the test.
