[Prospects of public health at COVID-19 post-pandemic stage].

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has made the society to be aware of the importance for public health. Public health related to the general health for people and social behavioral model, public safety and stability, social-economic growth, International political map and relationship, and also related to governance and refined management. The COVID-19 pandemic has given people the new insight and viewpoint to public health, and the awareness of the necessity to reform and improve the public health system, to strengthen the pathogen monitoring and early warning on mutation of pathogens, to strengthen the early detection and discovery of the source of infection, the cognition and blocking technology of transmission route, to strengthen vaccine development and strategic technology reserve, and to strengthen the construction of public health human resources. Public health is the guardian of people's health, the foundation of healthy China. Public health plays a fundamental, strategic and overall role in economic and social development, and also serves as important guarantee for national safety, national security and social stability. The comprehensive ability of public health is an important symbol of a government's construction on modern disease control system and refined management on society. The characteristics for modern public health include: diversity and complexity of health-related factors and disease etiology, and the community-based health protection and promotion on disease control and emergency response. To prospect the public health in the new era, we need to focus on the following problems: health of whole life span, environmental health and to build the environment, integrate health into strategies, one health and global health.
