Abstract
Total synthesis of a new β-carboline alkaloid, 6-hydroxymetatacarboline-d, which was isolated from fruiting bodies of Mycena metata was accomplished in 14 steps. The synthetic strategy features the Pictet-Spengler reaction to construct the tricyclic core followed by amide coupling and the Horner-Wadsworth-Emmons reaction.Entities:
