Recurrent multiple chorioangiomas and intrauterine death.

K W Chan1, C Y Leung.

Abstract

A 35-year-old woman delivered a macerated fetus at 29-week gestation. The placenta was hydropic and showed multiple chorioangiomas. The woman had a pregnancy which ended similarly five years earlier. Postmortem examination of the fetuses showed cardiomegaly. Recurrent fetal death associated with multiple chorioangiomas is extremely rare and may be a manifestation of an underlying chromosomal aberration.
