Serotyping of Streptococcus pneumoniae by latex agglutination.

Abstract

A simple method is presented for serotyping Streptococcus pneumoniae which uses easily prepared sensitized polystyrene latex particles. The technique is simple, fast and reliable and can detect pneumococcal antigens in body fluids.
