Abstract
Acute overload with an iron salt in mice enhanced the virulence of a relatively avirulent type of Salmonella typhimurium in a dose-dependent fashion. Iron administration also partly abolished specific immunity. Ferritin iron did not display the virulence-enhancing effect.Entities:
