Abstract
PURPOSE: The Prognostic Nutritional Index (PNI), Nutritional Risk Index (NRI), Geriatric Nutritional Risk Index (GNRI), and Controlling Nutritional Status (CONUT) score were devised for quantifying nutritional risk. This study evaluated their properties in detecting compromised nutrition and guiding perioperative management of esophageal cancer patients.Entities:

Adjusted confounding factors include age, sex, Brinkman index, alcohol index, comorbidities, body mass index, American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status, Karnofsky performance status, respiratory parameters, weight loss, tumor location, clinical stage, neoadjuvant chemotherapy, differentiation, lymph node metastasis, operative time, and estimated blood loss.
