Abstract
A new cystometric technique has been developed that is suitable for quantitative studies on physiopharmacology of micturition in conscious, freely moving rats. The method involves the transvesical infusion of warm saline at various filling rates through a catheter chronically implanted into the bladder dome. The various parameters of the collecting and voiding phase of the cystometrogram were recorded. Results obtained indicate that characteristics of the bladder voiding cycle of conscious, freely moving rats are qualitatively similar but quantitatively different from those described previously in anesthetized animals.Entities:
