Abstract
An immunocompromised patient with an indwelling Hickman catheter developed Mycobacterium neoaurum bacteremia. This rapidly growing mycobacterium was previously isolated from soil, dust, and water but has not been described as a human pathogen. The infection responded to therapy with cefoxitin and gentamicin. It was not necessary to remove the Hickman catheter.Entities:
