COVID-19 Prolonged in Patients with Cancer.

.

Abstract

Recent research found that patients with cancer and COVID-19 are susceptible to long-term infection, particularly if they have hematologic cancers or metastatic disease. Patients with prolonged COVID-19 had immune system alterations, such as lymphopenia and T-cell exhaustion, and metabolic abnormalities that may have impaired their ability to fight the virus. ©2021 American Association for Cancer Research.
