Abstract
BACKGROUND: Individuals with congenital heart defects (CHDs) are recommended to receive all inpatient cardiac and noncardiac care at facilities that can offer specialized care. We describe geographic accessibility to such centers in New York State and determine several factors associated with receiving care there.Entities:

We identified individuals with inpatient encounters who were between the ages of 11 and 30 as of January 1st, 2013. In the encounter summary, we include age at the time of the encounter. There may be individuals who were younger or older than the specified age range at different points in the surveillance period Abbreviations: APR DRG = All Patient Refined Diagnosis Related Group
