Abstract
Streptococcus pneumoniae is a major human pathogen that can spread to multiple sites in the body. However, the mechanisms dictating disease spread are not well understood. Here we highlight the importance of carbohydrate utilization systems on pneumococcal disease, offering insight into how this pathogen causes a spectrum of disease.Entities:
