In the article titled “Malocclusion: An adjunctive aid in individual identification”, published on pages 138-142, Issue 1, Volume 24 of Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology[1], the statement on page number 141, line number 12 has an incorrect reference cited:

“Due to the different lip print patterns observed in different regions of the world, lip prints have considered to have regional differences in their appearance.[12]”

The statement with correct reference citation should read as:

Due to the different lip print patterns observed in different regions of the world, lip prints have considered to have regional differences in their appearance.[24]

The new reference being added to the article and included in the reference list of the article as “24” has been stated below:

“Sivapathasundharam B, Prakash PA, Sivakumar G. Lipprints (cheiloscopy). Indian J Dent Res 2001;12(4):129-32.”
